2017 Ford Super Duty

The 2017 Ford Super Duty offers you nearly everything you could want in a truck--smart design, best-in-class performance, and a comfortable ride that you may not find elsewhere. The newly redesigned 2017 models are smarter, stronger, and a fantastic option for anyone looking for real performance without sacrificing creature comforts.

2017 Ford Super Duty

The new 2017 Ford Super Duty has a new design, which keeps the rugged look but maintains the overall swagger of the previous generations. The grille's twin horizontal "power bars" have been moved closer together, and are now bookended by Ford's C-shaped headlights rather than the previous chrome surrounds. Everyone will undoubtedly notice the bold "Super Duty" logo stamped into the hood, which we could easily imagine leaving an identical imprint in the brick walls the new Super Duty looks as though it could drive right through without incident. While you can still identify the Ford look at first glance, the new Super Duty is a modern, attractive variation.

The Super Duty offers two engine options, keeping the choices simpler than the wide variety offered by the F-150. Drivers can opt for a gas V-8 and a V-8 turbo diesel. The standard engine is a the 6.2-liter gas V-8 that develops 385 horsepower and 430 lb.-ft. of torque (which is best in class!), sending power to the wheels through a TorqShift-G six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with Tow/Haul Mode. The alternative option is a 6.7-liter PowerStroke V-8 turbodiesel. This beast offers 925 lb.-ft of torque and 440 horsepower. It's hard to imagine needing something bigger or stronger than what the Super Duty offers.

The Super Duty line offers five distinct trims so that you can customize your truck to your liking. The first trim, the workmanlike XL, is perfect for stripped down work needs or fleet options. The other options, which range from the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and finally the Platinum. Standard equipment levels increase significantly from the XLT upwards, and the Platinum really is positively bristling with features, equipment, comforts and luxury. The 2017 Super Duty can also be found in Regular Cab, SuperCab, and Crew Cab versions, and with either a 6.75-foot or an 8-foot bed. That's a lot of choice in an already fantastic truck line.

The 2017 Ford Super Duty line offers best in class towing and best in class payload distinctions. A significant contribution to the incredible capability of this truck comes from its new construction, made from high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloys. To manage increased loading requirements and the enhanced capability demanded of a heavy-duty truck, the cargo boxes have been completely re-engineered with increased panel thicknesses. This now means no rust, improved dent and ding resistance, and, basically, the toughest Super Duty trucks we've ever seen--and that's saying something.

 Platinum

F-250 SD Platinum

With a V8 engine (and an available diesel option) and a trailer package, the SD Platinum trim provides a 6-speed Select Shift transmission and plenty of real-world capability. But the difference between other trims and the Platinum comes in the interior finishes and features as well as the driver assistance options. You'll step into a cabin that's outfitted with 10-way power leather seats that are both heated and cooled for comfort, a fully equipped infotainment system that includes SYNC3, SiriusXM, and navigation, as well as a 10-speaker Sony sounds system complete with subwoofer. Driver assistance options included on the Platinum help monitor blind spots and lane departure.
